So excited!! I probably sound like a broken record at this point but thank you again for starting the book club and the Discord server in general. I've been enjoying the newfound community and seeing the talent & passion everyone has for art, regardless of the medium!

Hi, Ricky! For half a second I thought the first one said “Flowers in the Attic” lmao. The books are great, but the twist?! HO-LY SHIT. The movies are great too, definitely recommend for you to read and watch them.

Hi Ricky

I know I'm coming after the war, but I may have one or two book recommendations to give.

If you ever heard of Maupassant, a classic french author, I recommend his short stories. He is talking about crazyness, human spirit, and personally I loved his point of view on those subjects.

I also recommend "Trapped", by Camilla Läckberg and Henrik Fexeus. It's a polar, but the psychology of the main characters are well decripted, and the story has this darkness that put you head first in what's happening.

Concerning "Flowers for Algernon", I read it years ago in middle school. My french teatcher put it in my hands, and I keep a very good memory of it. A very emotive story, sometimes I told myself I should read it again !

Anyway, I hope someone will find those recommendations interesting.

Bien à vous

I love this idea!! I read a lot, not as often as I wish I did. Being a wife, mom, working full time and going to college full time I don’t read as much as I used to which is quite depressing to me. But seeing the list makes me so excited to have books to check out once I’m done with what I am reading.

I do love Neil Gaiman’s work, have you ever watched “The Sandman?” Or anyone on here for that matter. 🤣 I absolutely love it so much! I definitely added the book you recommended on my list. Thank you! I hope you’re well and safe travels for whenever you’re out. (:

We all know how busy you and all the guys are, but just to let you know how missed you are here... I'm absolutely jones-ing for more ricky Olsen stories and content. I'm devastated that I can't get a copy of gloom, and atm substance is the only place I can get my Ricky's writing fix. We miss you and are waiting for you to come back.

Wow, good choice with Stephen King. I love his books, I read many of his books. My favourite is saga dark tower. I love it. I love the story about Roland and his KA-TET. Recommend this saga.

Oh man, I met Paul Tremblay recently and he is the nicest guy ever! I read Pallbearer's Club and loved it and bought Cabin from him at the book festival and talked to him about the movie adaptation... It was fascinating!

I'm actually very surprised that you've never read anything by Gaiman! He is my all-time favorite author and is also an extremely nice human. I highly recommend listening to any of his audiobooks, as he's the narrator, and listening to the master of words read his own words just elevates it to another level. Ocean is one of the best, but I highly recommend American Gods, it's one I read semi-regularly and I try to do an annual read of it. Also, Sandman of course! Sandman is how I discovered him. I was 10 or 11 and wayyy too young to be reading that comic, but that didn't stop me!

Amazing choices this month, I'm excited!

Thank you Ricky for doing this. I have finally finished my first book of the year, "The Troop" which I thoroughly enjoyed and will start "The Ruins" this week. I know I am a slow reader, but am trying to take 15 minutes a day to read some pages! I am already writing a list that people have recommended and even if I take longer than most, it is my reading journey! Plus now having 2 jobs and a few health scares this last month, have also impacted on my time and headspace. All I can say, is a big thank you to you! Take care Ricky. 💜
